So maybe I do have something to say

Well, I stopped blogging a couple of months ago because I could never think of anything to write about. My brain was filled with logistical details of ministry and other boring items. I felt like I never had any spare brain time to think about anything I even wanted to write about…much less anything anyone else would like to read about.

I still don’t know if anyone else wants to read about the things I am thinking about, but having a baby at least gives me more time to think and ponder (and listen to the radio, and read books, and read web sites). I think I spend at least 8 hours per day feeding/burping Madeline or trying to rock her to sleep. — That’s 8 hours per 24 hour period, not “day” as in day time…I am truly living a 24 hour life these days.

So, while I am basically tied down to a chair for so many hours a day, I have plenty of time to engage in various sedentary pursuits. I became a public radio junkie sometime in the last year or two, but now I have taken it to a new level — I am an AM public radio junkie. Most times during the day lately while I am feeding Madeline or even doing stuff around the house, I am listening to the “news and information” programming on WOI-AM. So I am filled with fascinating facts (Did you know only female mosquitos can bite?) and all the latest in current events and news.

I also have time for reading the Word and for prayer — though I need to exercise more discipline and do more of that. I am trying to edit Daylights during some of the feedings, as there is some of the formatting and cutting that I can do one-handed, but sometimes this works better than others as I occaisonally get so focused on the editing that I neglect to realize Maddie fell asleep before getting a full feeding. I also can get my daily fix of Slashdot (http://slashdot.org) while feeding the baby, and I think I will actually start reading people’s blogs again too! I haven’t read too many books yet, but that is on the docket for the future

Then, in the middle of the night I have time to think about all the information I collected during the day. Sometimes I am too groggy to even think…but having all this interesting info swirling around in my head makes those 3am feedings go a little bit faster.

I am not making any promises as to how much I will blog in the future. I would like to believe I will become a regular blogger again, but I may lose interest again. However, If I can just learn to type one handed that will definitely increase the chances that I will do more blogging!

To blog or not to blog…

So, I’m not the most regular blogger. That fact is obvious, as there’s rarely more than two posts a month on this site.

In lieu of my blogging, I have pursued other creative endeavors. Namely, PlanetRock has been updated with more blog feeds and the ability to get a RSS feed to your personal blog aggregator.

So, with no more ado, welcome to PlanetRock Adam Vos, Elizabeth Fisher, Andrew Teply, Mike Biang, Russ Grave, and The Lone Strangers!
